Best places to dive in Ibiza

clear water diving

Our personal recommendation is that you contact companies that offer diving routes for different levels, since there are many of these areas that are difficult to locate or for which a specific certification is required.

Still, we recommend some areas to make your names ring a bell .

Dare to explore!

Daisy Island on the west coast

This popular island near San Miguel is a famous place to practice this sport for the beauty of its landscapes both underwater and terrestrial.

It is recommended for both beginners and experienced divers, as it has a depth of between 15 and 45 meters.

What will you find here? Caves, cracks, fissures, arches, tunnels... and with them, a very rich aquatic life.

El Faro in Cala Martina

fish diving

It accessed by boat from this beautiful cove near Santa Eulalia (where we recommend you spend the day).

It consists of a rock platform containing three dive sites suitable for all levels: the depth ranges from 2 meters to 24 meters (depends on the passage).

The highlights are the amount of fish you'll find here.

Las Gorgonias in the heart of the Ses Bledes archipelago

This dive area is located in a small archipelago 6 miles from San Antonio, so you'll need to go by boat.

Being a large area, it is recommended be accompanied by experienced divers to enjoy the dive to the fullest

It gets its name from its main attraction: an incredible colony of gorgonians of all colors.

The small dice in Ibiza

It is the famous rock that sank the Don Pedro wreck, one of the largest in Europe, which now lies on the Ibizan seabed.

In addition to this data, it is interesting to have a topography accessible to all types of divers.

It houses a spectacular amount of marine life: fredis, castanets, serranos, anemones, sponges, algae of many varieties, maidens...

Tips for safe diving

pair diving

If you liked the diving experience, and plan to introduce yourself more to this world on your own, we give you 5 tips for beginner divers:

  1. Get a scuba certification: Before you start diving, make sure you get a diving certification from a recognized agency, such as PADI or SSI. The certification will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to dive safely and fully enjoy the underwater experience.

  2. Practice your skills in a controlled environment: Once you earn your certification, it's important to practice your diving skills in a controlled environment, such as a shallow pool or beach. Familiarize yourself with scuba gear, buoyancy techniques, and underwater breathing before venturing into deeper water.

  3. Dive with a partner: Always dive with a partner, especially if you are a beginner. Diving in pairs is safer and gives you greater peace of mind in case of any eventuality. Maintain eye contact and constant communication with your partner during the dive.

  4. Follow safety rules: Make sure you always follow diving safety rules, such as depth limit, non-decompression times, and water safety rules. Do not risk yourself beyond your limits and follow the instructions of your dive instructor or guide.

  5. Keep in good physical condition: Maintain good fitness for diving. Diving can be a demanding physical activity, so it is important to be physically fit to fully enjoy the experience and avoid any health risks.

Enjoy your underwater adventure!
