Mojito man is a reference point in the Ibizan summer, where it is common to see him liven up the best floating parties that are held every year on the most exclusive and powerful boats on the market. The list of celebrities who have tried his mojitos is incalculable. Hollywood actors, elite sportsmen, singers, djs, politicians ..... have all given it the thumbs up!!!
The best mojito, straight to your boat
When we asked the creator of this initiative what was his inspiration to bring mojitoman to life, he told us that the idea came to him one summer when he was sitting in Cafe de Mar, in San Antonio, having an aperitif while watching the sunset. He noticed that there were several boats anchored a few metres from the coast, also watching the sunset. And he was struck by how one of the crew members of a sailboat jumped into the water and swam towards the beach to go to a bar in search of cocktails and beers for him and his friends, as they had drunk everything they had on board and wanted to have a drink.
on board and wanted to keep on partying.
And given Ariel's business acumen, it was at that very moment that he realised it would be a great idea to sell cocktails and drinks to the boats anchored in the bay. So it was that the next day, armed with a watertight bag, ice, rum and good weed, he set off on the adventure with the positive attitude that always characterised him! And it was a triumph!
The acceptance of his cocktails was immediate. And the legend began. He owes his name to a group of English friends who accepted his sales proposal and after finding that his mojitos were exquisite, they not only asked him for another round, but also christened him Mojito Man! Ariel ended that summer working in the bay of San Antonio with the boats that anchored to watch the sunset to the rhythm of the music of Cafe del Mar combined with the fireworks and acrobatics that a group of boys and girls did on the beach.
And the following year, he decided to take his business to more crystalline waters, with a more demanding and elitist public. Formentera!
And to do so, he had to change the modus operandi. It was no longer enough to swim from one boat to another dragging his bag under the radiant summer sun. So he decided to buy a dinghy to be able to reach the neighbouring island more quickly and to be able to move more quickly from boat to boat.
And that's how every summer we see Mojito man and his inseparable Mojito woman sailing the waters of Formentera offering their unique mojitos, clad in their black neoprene suits with fluo green designs as if they were a fictional character. This duo, of Argentinian-Russian origin, tell us that the success of their cocktail is simply due to the use of the best products to make it. Nothing is spared.
