From each boat listing, you can:
– Send your request using the form
– Write to us via WhatsApp or email
– Or make the reservation and payment directly online on boats that allow it - Confirmation and payment
Once you have set the date and boat, we will send you all the details. To confirm the reservation, 50% of the total is paid. The remainder is due a few days before boarding, depending on the type of boat.
Do you have questions about the process? We're available to help you anytime via WhatsApp, email, or phone.
If you rent with a skipper, we only need your valid ID or passport as the rental holder.
If you prefer to rent without a skipper, you must present a valid and approved nautical license appropriate for the length of the boat. This must be valid and legible.
You can send us the documentation by email after making the reservation to facilitate the contract process on the day of embarkation.
Capacity varies depending on the type of boat. Most boats are limited by law to 12 passengers, but at Blue Ocean Ibiza we also have boats authorised for large groups, with a capacity of up to 300 people.
If you are more than 12, no problem: we have catamarans, yachts, schooners and tandem options so no one is left on land.
The choice of boat type depends on the experience you want to have at sea. At Blue Ocean Ibiza, we offer a variety of options to suit your preferences:
- Boats and RIBs: Ideal for quick getaways, visiting several coves in a short time, and enjoying the speed and adrenaline rush.
- Catamarans: Perfect for comfortable and stable sailing. Their spaciousness makes them ideal for celebrations, events, or simply relaxing with friends or family.
- Sailboats: For those seeking an authentic and relaxed experience, in touch with the sea, the wind, and nature.
- Yachts: An exclusive option, offering maximum comfort, privacy, and onboard service for a premium experience in Ibiza and Formentera.
If you're not sure which type of boat best suits your needs, our team will be happy to advise you and help you find the perfect option for your day at sea.
During your onboard experience
All boats marked with the “Online Booking” label on the website embark and disembark at Puerto Marina Botafoch (Ibiza). If you prefer another boarding point in Ibiza or Formentera, this is also possible with advance notice and fare agreement.
For reservations without the online booking option, the boarding point will depend on the boat's mooring, which is usually in one of these locations: Talamanca, Ses Salines Beach, Santa Eulalia, or San Antonio.
The full-day rental lasts 8 hours, starting from the booked time. You can board from 10:00 AM, and the most common time is between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM to take advantage of the best hours of sunlight. We offer a 30-minute courtesy margin in case of delays beyond the client's control.
Boats must return before the gas station closes(if chartered without a captain) or before sunset for safety reasons. If you exceed 8 hours, an extra hour supplement of €100 + VAT will apply, depending on the boat.
Want to see the sunset? This is possible if the charter schedule allows. If you would like to extend your rental beyond the standard schedule, please contact us and we will send you a personalized quote.
The most popular day charter routes usually include Formentera and Espalmador Island, a nature reserve with white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and absolute tranquility. This is the most recommended option, especially if it's your first time sailing around Ibiza and Formentera.
You can also choose other routes, such as:
- Cala Saona, a protected and calm cove with clear waters
- Southern Ibiza: Salinas, Cala Jondal, Porroig, or even Es Vedrà, if conditions permit.
- Northern beaches or custom routes, depending on the type of boat and time of day
On our website, you can see all the available options with maps and itinerary ideas: Check out our routes here
If you have a specific route in mind, tell us your idea and we'll confirm if it's feasible.
Before boarding, you will have to sign a charter contract where you will find the booking details, the characteristics of the boat and the general conditions of the service. A few days before the charter we will send you all this information so that you can review it calmly and resolve any doubts in advance.
Also included are the basic rules of safety and behaviour on board, such as not wearing street shoes, avoiding smoking indoors or respecting the marine environment. At the end of the day, the condition of the boat will be checked before the deposit is returned.
Remember that tipping the captain is entirely voluntary, but it is valued as a gesture of appreciation if the service has been satisfactory.
Our advice: arrive in good time at the port, especially in high season, so that you can embark without rushing and start your experience with complete peace of mind.
Services and extras
On our website, within each boat file, you will find clearly specified what is included in the price.
Generally, the price includes VAT, mooring in base port, boat insurance, port taxes, snorkelling equipment, basic drinks and, on boats with compulsory skipper, also the skipper service.
🔍 Everything that is included (and what is not) is detailed in each card.
If you prefer to forget about calculations, we offer you the option of a closed budget that includes fuel, captain, food, extra drinks, water toys or any other additional service you wish for your charter.
Yes. Depending on the type of rental, a security deposit or deposit may be required:
- Bareboat: A security deposit starting at €1000 is required, which varies depending on the type and size of the boat. The deposit is returned after a check that everything is in perfect condition, within 24 to 48 hours.
- With skipper: A security deposit between €250 and €400 is usually required, mainly to cover fuel consumption. If fuel is included, no deposit is required.
Fuel is not usually included in the charter price, except in some specific boats (especially in boats for large groups or closed packs).
On skippered boats, fuel consumption is calculated at the end of the charter according to the route taken. It can be paid directly to the staff in port or deducted from the deposit paid at the beginning of the charter.
For boats without skipper, the client must refuel at the petrol station before disembarking. Failure to do so will result in an additional refuelling service charge.
The APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is an advance deposit of 30-35% of the charter price (applicable on luxury yachts) to cover expenses such as fuel, premium drinks, moorings in other ports or any extra services requested. At the end of the trip a breakdown is given and the unused portion is returned, if applicable.
This system only applies to certain yachts such as the Explorer 92. If you have any doubts, ask us and we will help you calculate the estimated costs for your yacht.
Do you prefer a closed price with everything included? We can also prepare it for you. Write to us and we will make you a personalised proposal.

Most of our boats include basic drinks on board: water, soft drinks (Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite), beer and ice, available in the ship's fridge. On some ships for larger groups, drinks must be booked separately. If you want something different, we can offer you premium drink packs or prepare a tailor-made selection for you.
When it comes to food, you can book menus on board: from barbecues and tapas to vegetarian or premium menus, depending on the boat. You can also bring your own food and drink without any problem, as long as the boat is returned in a normal clean condition. Otherwise, a surcharge may apply.
If you want to cook on board, it is best to rent a sailing boat or catamaran, as motorboats and dinghies are not usually equipped for this purpose. Ask us about the specific boat and we will let you know if this is possible.
And if you prefer to eat out, on many routes you have the option of going down to restaurants on the coast or even ask for food to be served directly on board from the restaurant.
Yes, many of our clients choose to stop for lunch on land during the day. There are several routes that allow you to easily disembark at coastal restaurants, especially in Formentera (such as Illetes or Cala Saona), where you will find some of the most popular restaurants in the area.
In addition, some restaurants offer a direct delivery service to the boat, so you can enjoy your meal on board without having to disembark. If you have a restaurant in mind, let us know and we will let you know if it offers this option or if it is feasible to include it in your route.
At Blue Ocean Ibiza you can personalise your day at sea with all kinds of extras: water toys such as SeaBob, wakeboard or water skis, gourmet menus on board, premium drinks, live music, entertainment and much more.
We recommend booking in advance to guarantee availability. You will only have to pay 50% of the amount upon confirmation. It is also possible to book some of these services on the day of the charter (subject to availability), paying the full amount before boarding.
Tell us what you would like to add and we will prepare a tailor-made proposal to make your experience unforgettable.
Changes and cancellations
Yes, you can cancel your reservation, but a penalty will apply depending on how far in advance you notify us:
- More than 30 days before embarkation: 50% of the deposit paid will be refunded.
- Less than 30 days before embarkation: 100% of the deposit paid will be retained.
These conditions may vary slightly depending on the type of vessel or agreement, and are always detailed when confirming your reservation. If you have any questions, please ask us before booking.
If on the day of embarkation the weather conditions do not allow a safe departure, the first option will be to change the date of the charter, subject to availability on the part of both the client and the company.
If it is not possible to reschedule the departure, 100% of the amount paid will be refunded.
In case of breakdown before embarkation, Blue Ocean Ibiza will offer you another boat with similar or superior characteristics.
If there is no availability or you cannot change the date, the amount paid will be refunded.
If the problem occurs during the charter, the team will assess the situation and will do everything possible to solve it or compensate you adequately depending on the case.
If you rent the boat without a skipper and damage occurs due to misuse or negligence, the security deposit will cover the costs. If the damage is minor, you will be refunded the excess; if it is major, you will only pay up to the limit of the deposit, and the company will cover the rest.
If the boat was chartered with a professional skipper, you will not be liable for damages incurred during sailing. However, you will be liable for damage to upholstery or other items caused by improper use by passengers.
