Es Vedrà from the Sea: The Icon of Ibiza You Can Only Truly Understand While Sailing
Blue Ocean Ibiza
Majestic, magnetic and mysterious, Es Vedrà is more than an islet, it’s the very symbol of Ibiza’s spirit.
Only when you approach it from the sea do you truly understand its power, its silence and that special energy so many sailors talk about.
A Symbol Steeped in History and Legend
Located off Cala d’Hort, on the southwest coast of Ibiza, Es Vedrà rises more than 380 metres above the sea.
It has inspired Phoenician legends, tales of sirens, and mystical stories. But beyond its mythic aura, Es Vedrà holds immense ecological and geological value, forming part of Ibiza’s protected natural heritage.
Fact: Es Vedrà belongs to the Nature Reserve of Es Vedrà, Es Vedranell and the Western Islets, a strictly protected area in the Balearic Islands.
